About the Infant Home Monitoring Programme

The home monitoring programme has been developed to monitor some babies with single ventricle circulation at home between stage 1 and 2 of surgery.

It allows professionals and parents to work together to assess whether a baby is well enough to be at home.

Information and resources on the Home Monitoring Programme for Oxford patients can be obtained from the Cardiac Nurse Specialists in Oxford by calling 01865 234985 or via switchboard on 0300 304 7777 bleep 4170 (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm).  Messages are checked throughout the day and a member of the team will call you back. Video Learning Resources

These videos have been made by the Home Monitoring nursing team at Southampton to help you use and troubleshoot your saturation monitor and scales at home. 

If you have any concerns about your baby’s condition always call the Home Monitoring team or have your baby assessed in your local unit. Both teams can offer advice and support troubleshooting the use of the equipment when they have assessed your baby.

Support for Parents.

Support is available from the Children’s Cardiac Nurse Specialist Team and our Psychology Team.

Local and national support groups are also there to provide support to parents and children with single ventricle heart conditions.
